Computer Science Education Week is celebrated during the week of December 4th 2017. To join the initiative, GLAT project members organized an one-hour workshop on programming in Scratch at Department of Informatics, University of Rijeka on December 7th 2017.
The workshop was attended by 6th grade students from elementary school Vladimir Gortan, Rijeka who created their first programs in Scratch. The students were encouraged to continue learning programming within the Code Club, which will be held at the Department of Informatics from January 2018.
Organization of this workshop also contributed to the Hour of Code movement, which promotes gaining the first programming experiences, computer science and programming learning as well as choosing careers in IT sector.
