Dissemination activities
In order to disseminate project results, project team members present general information about the GLAT project and its activities at meetings, organizations, local seminars and international events. Presentations are also held to encourage the implementation of educational activities that stimulate the algorithmic thinking of young students, theoretical frameworks and examples of innovative practices related to serious games and those that include direct application of game based learning and gamification.
To enable all interested parties to learn about the project results, written material such as newsletters and leaflets are also published.

Experiences from the GLAT project were presented at International Scientific and Art Conference Contemporary themes in education – CTE 2019. Krešo Tomljenović presented the paper “Computational Thinking of Future Junior Primary School Teachers” and introduced conference participants with activities and results of the GLAT project.

Prof. Nataša Hoić-Božić (UNIRI) presented the GLAT project results to students – future teachers of Informatics at Department of Informatics, Unversity of Rijeka on 28th of October 2019.

Members of the GLAT team Petra Pejić-Papak and Jasminka Mezak (UF) organized panel discussion “Games for Learning Algorithmic Thinking (GLAT): Experiences and results of the Erasmus+ project“ and presented the GLAT project results at Faculty of teacher education in Rijeka.

Members of the GLAT team participated at the conference NAK 2019 in Laško, Slovenia on 23rd and 24th of October 2019 and presented project results to Slovenian teachers and future teachers. Prof. Jože Rugelj (UL) held lecture „Poučevanje in učenje računalništva v digitalni dobi“ about teaching and learning in digital age while Dr. Irena Nančovska Šerbec (UL) organized a workshop „Razvoj računalniškega mišljenja skozi projektno delo v SCRATCHU“ about development of computer thinking through project work in Scratch.

Members of the GLAT team participated at the conference eLearning 2019 in Belgrade, Serbia on 26th and 27th of September 2019. Prof. Nataša Hoić-Božić presented the project results and the paper “Development of Computational Thinking Skills in Primary School through Digital Storytelling with Scratch“. Co-authors of the paper are Martina Holenko Dlab (UNIRI), Sara Ursić Budim and Jasminka Mezak (UF).

GLAT project and project activities with a focus on education for primary junior grade teachers were presented at final GLAT conference by a the project leader prof. Nataša Hoić-Božić (UNIRI). Martina Holenko Dlab (UNIRI) presented the project results that are available on the GLAT web site. The results include Syllabus and materials Guide for teachers, and a set of learning scenarios created by the teachers – participant of GLAT education.

The members of the GLAT project participated at the 11th International Conference on Education and New Learning Technologies – EDULEARN 2019 that was held from 1st to 3rd July 2019 in Palma de Mallorca, Spain and presented the paper “Games for Learning Algorithmic Thinking (GLAT) Project: The influence of personal and environmental factors on perceived usefulness and usage of the LePlanner – learning scenario design tool”. Authors of the paper are J. S. Quaicoe (TU), M. Laanpere (TU), K. Pata (TU), N. Hoić-Božić (UNIRI), and R. Rõbtšenkov (TU).

The GLAT project results were presented at the Mediterranean Scientific Conference “Educational Systems and Societal Changes: Challenges and Opportunities” that was held on June 6th and 7th, 2019 in Rijeka. Jasminka Mazak (UF) presented the paper “Supporting Contemporary Learning and Teaching Methods through GLAT Project” written in co-authorship with Petra Pejić-Papak and Darko Lončarić (UF).

Members of the GLAT project team from UF and SWU participated at the 42nd International Convention on Information and Communication Technology, Electronics and Microelectronics – MIPRO 2019 that was held in Opatija, Croatia. Dr. Jasminka Mezak presented the paper “Problem Based Learning for Primary School Junior Grade Students Using Digital Tools” (co-author dr. Petra Pejić-Papak) and dr. Daniela Tuparova presented the paper “Teaching of computer programming in Bulgarian primary school – challenges and solutions“.

Dr. Martina Holenko Dlab (UNIRI) held lecture about using games for developing algorithmic thinking and programming skills in younger age and presented the results of the GLAT project at the national teacher training seminar organized by the Education and Teacher Training Agency. The presentations were attended by primary and secondary school teachers from Croatia.

Prof. Vladimir Trajkovik (UKIM) held lecture entitled “Digital competences and computational thinking in your class / Challenges of 21st century education” at Faculty of Teacher Education. The lecture raised great interest and was attended by 200 primary school junior grade teachers and students.

Members of the GLAT project team from UKIM participated at the 11st annual International Conference on Education, Research and Innovation (ICERI 2018), held in Seville (Spain) 12-14th November 2018 and presented methodological tool for evaluation of educational games and research on how to use game based learning combined with flipped classroom and collaborative team.

Dr. Jasminka Mezak (UF) presented the GLAT project and results achieved so far at the professional-scientific interdisciplinary conference „STEM Area in the Educational System: Today for Tomorrow“ held in Rijeka. The aim of this conference is to promote the popularization of science and encourage the development of critical thinking in pre-school and early school-age children, with the aim of directing children toward STEM areas and creating a society of knowledge.

Project members from Faculty of Teacher Education and UNIRI took part in the program of Lifelong Learning Week in Rijeka. The GLAT project was presented and the launch of a lifelong learning programme for teachers that will be based on the materials developed during the project was announced.

Presentation was attended by researchers and teachers.

Professors Ana Madevska Bogdanova and Vladimir Trajkovik from UKIM participated at the Fourth EduConference in Struga, Macedonia where they presented about the GLAT project and how to prepare and choose educational games that promote algorithmic thinking.
